I'm Sebastian Sogamoso, a product engineer with over a decade of experience building software and the teams that ship it. These days I'm focused on engineering leadership, where I help teams do their best work and turn hard technical problems into real business outcomes.
I care about the craft of building products, but I care just as much about the people doing the building: growing engineers, setting a clear direction, and creating the conditions for teams to move fast without losing the plot. I started out close to the code and never fully left it. I still believe the best leaders keep one foot in the work.
Why "Pressed Key"?
Because that's where all of this starts: one key, pressed on purpose. Every product, every outage, every 2 a.m. fix traces back to someone deciding to press the next key instead of closing the laptop.
This blog is my collection of those small, deliberate presses: notes on engineering, leadership, and the unglamorous decisions that quietly add up to something that works.
